What is Life Coaching?

 

A Life Coach is someone who helps clients explore and define their personal and/or professional goals and helps to set strategies so that they may achieve and exceed those goals. A Life Coach will help a client to feel empowered to make the changes that they want to make. A Life Coach is not a Counsellor, Therapist, Consultant or Mentor and does not work to resolve any underlying psychological issues. Coaching is not telling, directing or advising, but encouraging in order to unlock the answers that already exist within the individual. Coaching seeks to empower, adjusting the individual’s self-limiting beliefs. A Life Coach can enable you to become the best version of yourself.

About Hannah 

Hannah has been a Life Coach since 2019. Though Hannah now focuses on Stress Management Coaching, she is still available for traditional Life Coaching, available in-person locally or online.

Hannah is a natural STRATEGIST. For anyone familiar with MBTI, she is an INTJ (also known as the Mastermind). Hannah is naturally goal orientated, and highly experienced in planning how to achieve goals. Throughout her ‘first career’ she worked for various national and international fashion brands/retailers. All of her roles saw her accountable for creating strategies and delivering multi-million pound profit budgets. In her personal life she always have to give herself goals or somehow she just doesn’t feel herself. In all of her roles she led, supported and developed her teams to deliver high performance and progress both personally and professionally. Hannah is always complimented on being an excellent listener and is naturally inquisitive meaning that she really seeks to understand her clients’ situations, thoughts, feelings and needs thoroughly. Hannah is not judgemental and encourages her clients to remember that everyone is different, everyone’s situation is different and there is no right or wrong. Her aim is to help you uncover what is right for you. She believes that anyone can be what they want to be, achieve what they want to achieve and her mission is to help others realise their potential by challenging them in a supportive and caring way.

What to Expect

If you haven't had any coaching or mentoring before it is understandable that you may be feeling apprehensive and unsure of what to expect, however there is nothing to feel anxious about. Hannah describes coaching as a guided conversation after which you will feel excited, motivated and empowered. 

 

It is important that you feel comfortable with your coach so that you are able to discuss matters openly; a coach should make you feel supported and at ease. Throughout your sessions Hannah will listen to you in order to gain understanding and positively challenge you to broaden your perspective. 

 

Ahead of committing to coaching with Hannah you will have the opportunity of a 15 minute consultation during which Hannah will ask you questions in order to gain an overall understanding of what you wish to achieve through working with her. If at this stage Hannah feels that you require more specialist help (e.g. Counselling or Therapy) then she will make this clear and if possible offer an onward referral. It is important that after your initial consultation both parties feel that Hannah is the right Coach for you.

 

We will then agree a schedule of regular sessions taking place either in-person or via phone/Zoom. Either weekly or fortnightly sessions are recommend, depending on your goals and how much support you feel you will need.

 

In your first coaching session your goals will be established and a time-frame by which you will aim to achieve them will be agreed. Your goal(s) will be broken down and a phased approach for you to complete each individual step/milestone will be agreed. You will go away from each session with tools and techniques to achieve what has been discussed. During each session your progress since the previous session will be reviewed against the overall plan.
